10W/m UltraTec Electric Ultra Thin Undertile Heating Cable
Product code: UT10KIT/90
EAN:
ELEKTRA UltraTec is an ultra-thin loose heating cable for comfortable warmth beneath tiles and natural stone. Its flexible layout suits bathrooms, kitchens and irregular rooms, particularly where keeping floor build-up low matters.
The compact 2 × 3mm cable is designed for indoor installation in flexible tile adhesive or self-levelling compound. Adjustable cable spacing lets the installer match the heat output to the usable floor area and floor finish.
Choosing your cable size
Measure only the area available for heating, excluding fixed furniture, kitchen units, baths and other permanent fixtures. Choose a cable that fits this area: the heating cable cannot be cut or shortened.
Use the guide below to compare UltraTec cable sizes. Coverage depends on the chosen spacing and required output; the timber and concrete base figures are guide areas, rather than a substitute for a heating design. If the system will be the room's main heat source, its output must meet the calculated heat loss.

Spacing and heat output
For a warm-floor effect, the manual gives typical outputs of 100–120W/m² beneath tiles or stone, and 100W/m² beneath suitable wood, laminate, carpet or vinyl. At 10W per metre, spacing the cable 100mm apart gives approximately 100W/m².
UltraTec's minimum cable spacing is 40mm beneath tiles or stone. Beneath thin parquet, laminate, carpet or vinyl, keep at least 100mm between cable runs and follow the floor covering manufacturer's temperature limits.
Installation and floor finishes
Fully embed the cable and its joints in a suitable flexible tile adhesive or self-levelling layer. The recommended build-up is 6–8mm, subject to the installation materials and floor finish. Insulation beneath the system helps reduce downward heat loss and improve warm-up times.
Tiles and natural stone are the primary finishes. Suitable wood, laminate, carpet and vinyl require a self-levelling layer over the cable and approval for use with electric underfloor heating.
Use a compatible thermostat with a floor sensor. Electrical connection and resistance testing must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The shared ELEKTRA UltraTec & DM manual is available below; follow its UltraTec-specific instructions.
