ELEKTRA MD 200W Electric Underfloor Heating Mats provide powerful, energy-efficient heating for rooms requiring a higher heat output. Designed for quick and straightforward installation, each mat features a thin heating cable securely stitched to a self-adhesive fibreglass mesh, allowing it to be easily positioned across the floor.

With an output of 200W per square metre, ELEKTRA MD Heating Mats are ideal for rooms with higher heat loss or where a faster warm-up time is required. They are particularly well suited to conservatories, kitchens, bathrooms and other areas where additional heating performance is needed.

The evenly spaced heating cables distribute heat consistently across the floor, creating a comfortable and efficient source of radiant warmth. Depending on the room’s heat-loss requirements, the system may be used as either a primary or secondary heat source.

Installing the heating mats over suitable floor insulation, such as Ekoboard XPS Insulation Boards or Thermopanel Tile Backer Boards, can reduce heat-up times and running costs by up to 25%.

Insulation helps direct the heat upwards into the room instead of allowing it to escape into the subfloor, improving both comfort and system efficiency.

For best results, cover the heating mat with approximately 6–8mm of flexible self-levelling compound or flexible tile adhesive during installation.

Installation Guidance

• Although floor insulation is optional, its use is strongly recommended to reduce energy consumption and improve warm-up times. We recommend Ekoboard XPS Insulation Boards or Thermopanel Tile Backer Boards.

• For tiled floors, flexible tile adhesive can be applied directly over the heating mat. Alternatively, the mat can be covered with a suitable flexible self-levelling compound before tiling.

• For wood, vinyl or carpet finishes, the heating mat must first be fully covered with a suitable self-levelling compound.

• Always confirm that the chosen floor covering, adhesive and levelling compound are suitable for use with a 200W/m² electric underfloor heating system.

• A suitable floor-sensing thermostat must be used to control the system and prevent the floor covering from exceeding its permitted temperature.
